The Melk Man’s Heart is in San Francisco

San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera is on his fourth Major
League Baseball team, but he appears to have finally found a home in The
Bay Area. Cabrera appeared to have something going when he was a member
of The New York Yankees. Along with  All-Star second baseman Robinson
Cano, Cabrera appeared to be apart of the future of The Yanks, but after
helping The Bronx Bombers win The World Series in 2009, he was traded
to The Atlanta Braves. After a subpar season with The Braves where
Cabrera only had a .255 batting average, he was released. In 2011, The
Kansas City Royals picked Cabrera up of off the scrap heap and signed
him to a one-year deal. Cabrera had career highs in home runs (18), runs
batted in (87), stolen bases (20), and batting average (.305). Cabrera
appeared to have found a home in Kansas City, but The Royals were in
need of a starting pitcher so he was traded to The Giants for pitcher
Johnathan Sanchez.

It didn’t take “The Melk Man” long to find his groove with The Giants.
In his first game as a Giant, Cabrera doubled and hit a home run in a
loss to The Arizona Diamondbacks. Cabrera is currently second in The
National League in triples (7), and fourth in batting average (.351).
Cabrera has taken advantage of the cavernous outfield at AT&T Park
in San Francisco. With right-center field 421 feet away from home plate,
it is easy for the switch-hitting Cabrera to turn singles into doubles
and doubles into triples. Cabrera has helped out The Giants lineup by
providing a bat that will get on base ahead of catcher Buster Posey and
third baseman Pablo Sandoval who are the team’s main RBI threats.

Not only is the native of The Dominican Republic on pace for career
highs in all of the major offensive categories, but he is also on pace
to make his first All-Star Game appearance next month in Kansas City.
Cabrera knows what it is like to win The World Series and The Giants do
as well as they won in 2010. The Giants are currently surging as they
are closing in on The Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in The NL
West. The Giants and Cabrera won’t stop there because together they have
their eyes on the bigger prize which is getting back to The Fall
Classic.
