Eastern Conference

First Round

Miami Heat (1) vs. Atlanta Hawks (8) (Miami wins 4-0)

The athleticism of the Miami Heat as they are led by forward LeBron James will be too much for their over matched counterpart from the Southeast Division in the Atlanta Hawks.
Indiana Pacers (2) vs. Toronto Raptors (7) (Pacers win 4-0)

The Indiana Pacers are veteran team that is focused on making another deep run in the NBA Playoffs while the Toronto Raptors will just be happy to be at the dance.

Chicago Bulls (3) vs. Detroit Pistons (6) (Bulls win 4-1)

The Chicago Bulls are excited to have their captain in point guard Derrick Rose back in the saddle. The Detroit Pistons are once again a playoff team, but they won’t be a match for “Da Bulls”.
Brooklyn Nets (4) vs. New York Knicks (5) (Nets win 4-3)

I picked the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks to meet in the playoffs last season, but it didn’t work out. I think that it will work out differently this season. The Nets are built to win in the playoffs while the Knicks are not and that will be the difference in this series.
Second Round

Brooklyn vs. Miami (Heat win 4-2)

The Nets are an improved team, but they still do not have enough to get past the Heat in the playoffs.
Chicago vs. Indiana (Pacers win 4-2)

The Bulls don’t consider the Pacers as their main rival, but after this series they may want to rethink that.
Eastern Conference Finals

Indiana vs. Miami (Pacers win 4-3)

The Pacers have been close to getting past the Heat before, but an improved bench will be the difference in Indiana making their second visit ever to the NBA Finals.
Western Conference

First Round

Los Angeles Clippers (1) vs. Portland Trailblazers (8) (Clippers win 4-1)

In their first season under head coach Doc Rivers, the Los Angeles Clippers are a team on a mission with an eye on making the NBA Finals

San Antonio Spurs (2) vs. Denver Nuggets (7) (Spurs win 4-2)

The veteran calm of the San Antonio Spurs against the uptempo style of the Denver Nuggets will be on display, but in the end it will be San Antonio advancing.
Golden State Warriors (3) vs. Houston Rockets (6) (Warriors win 4-3)

This might be the best series in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs as it will feature two explosive teams in the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Center Dwight Howard signed with the Rockets to do big things, but he will denied the ability in his first season in Houston.

Memphis Grizzlies (4) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (5) (Grizzlies win 4-3)

These two teams are making it a habit of meeting in the playoffs, but the size and depth of the Memphis Grizzlies will be too much for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Second Round

Memphis vs. Los Angeles (Clippers win 4-3)

These two teams have met the past two seasons in the playoffs with both teams winning once. In the rubber match the Clippers will advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history.
Golden State vs. San Antonio (Warriors win 4-2)

For years people continue to write off the Spurs as being an “old” team. The Warriors have young legs and they will finally be able to slay the dragon.
Western Conference Finals

Golden State vs. Los Angeles (Golden State win 4-3)

Warriors guard Steph Curry has previously shown that he isn’t afraid to shine on the big stage and it is only a matter of time before he gets to play in the NBA Finals.
NBA Finals

Golden State vs. Indiana (Golden State wins 4-2)

In a shocker to some I am picking the Golden State Warriors to be the 2013-2014 NBA Champions. Warriors guard Steph Curry is a star in the making as he will be named NBA Finals MVP.
