When it comes to NASCAR Richard Petty may be “The King”, but Jeff Gordon
is “The Natural.” After Gordon’s win at The Advocare 500 in Atlanta,
Gordon now has more wins (85) than any driver in the modern era of
NASCAR. When I started watching auto racing as a kid, I immediately
became a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. I loved the way that Earnhardt drove
and the all black Chevrolet was a thing of beauty. It was tough when
Gordon came on the scene in the early 90’s as he was a guy that gave
Earnhardt tough competition and he surpassed Earnhardt for The Winston
Cup. It seemed like every other week Gordon was winning as he became the
fastest driver to win 50 races in the history of the sport.

Two of the marquis raceways in NASCAR are at Daytona, Florida and
Talladega, Alabama. At these two tracks Gordon has racked up 11
victories including winning the prestigious Daytona 500 three times.
Gordon and his DuPont Chevy have always found the winners circle because
of hard work. Gordon maintains a pit crew that prides themselves on
getting him off of pit row in 14 seconds. At 40 years old Gordon has
done it all in the sport. Gordon is a four-time Winston Cup Champion,
The 1993 Nascar Rookie of The Year, and surpassed the $100 million mark
in career earnings.

Gordon’s recent win was his third for the season after not posting a win
in 2010. Gordon is currently fifth in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup standings and
his milestone win can only give boost his confidence as he tries to
unseat Jimmie Johnson as the champion. Gordon is showing everyone that
the only time that he will slow is entering pit row or pulling into the
winner’s circle. Gordon is not slowing down and who knows how long the
native Californian will keep providing excitement on the race track.
